Certified Floodplain Surveyors

FEMA and ACSM have partnered to create a certification for licensed surveyors that will allow for an expedited review of applications for letters of map amendment (LOMA)to Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM). A pilot program has been conducted in North Carolina in conjunction with the North Carolina Society of Surveyors and the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management.

CFS Fact Sheet - This fact sheet is sent to those who achieve the certification, known as Certification of Floodplain Surveyors (CFS).

Certified Floodplain Surveyors

  • North Carolina - This list contains the names of the Registered Professional Land Surveyors (RPLS) who have been designated as CFS through the North Carolina pilot program.
